I have my DIY PIZZA KIT!

         WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Grill

  • 10-12 Inch Non Stick Frying Pan

  • Dry & Clean Work Top

  • DIY Pizza Kit

You must make sure your dough balls are filling the container in which they came. An hour at room temperature should achieve this. You can refrigerate for a while after this stage as it will make your dough ball easier to handle!

  1. Lay out all the ingredients provided in your DIY Pizza Kit.

  2. Switch on your grill to the highest setting and make sure that your frying pan will fit as close as possible to the element.

  3. Begin pre-heating your frying pan on a medium heat. Make sure it is clean and dry.

SLAPPING YOUR PIZZA AND FORMING THE BASE

  1. Spill out your Fine Semolina on the worktop and place your Sourdough ball in the middle

  2. Sprinkle some semolina on the top of the dough ball and begin pushing out from the centre of the dough ball to the edge leaving 1cm rim which will be your crust.

  3. Flip over your dough and repeat adding more semolina and gradually begin to use your palm to thin out the dough.

  4.  Flip over to get to the face of the pizza and continue pushing out with your palm until you get roughly a 10inch circle consistently even throughout but with a thicker rim which is your crust!

LETS COOK

  1. Lay out your stretched dough using two hands onto your hot non stick pan face up. Using a table spoon lay out your tomato sauce thinly and evenly leaving 1cm around the edges for the crust.

  2. Add your Parmesan/Pecorino blend evenly on top of the tomato sauce, next add your Fior di Latte Mozzarella in an abstract way again on your pizza. If you have purchased special packs with additional ingredients add them now. Finish with some sea salt. We recommend Maldon.

  3. Cook the pizza for a minute or two or until the base has browned slightly. Immediately place under the grill with the oven door open and cook for a minute or two once the crust has taken colour.

  4.  You have now created authentic Neapolitan pizza, take a picture, post it on your story, send it to your friends and make them jealous. Don't forget to @BuildASlice on Instagram so that we can repost you for the world to see.

If your dough has risen too much you’ll just have to knock it back a little, to do so please follow the steps below:

1. Leave your dough in the plastic pot it rose in.

2. Make a fist with your hand and push it firmly into the centre of the dough ball.

3.Fold the edges of the dough into the centre to form a ball.

4. Place it back in the container it came in and cling film and allow it to grow again.

How to freeze your pizza kit:

Oil the ball of dough (this will help you remove it from the freezer bag when thawed). Olive oil works best!

Place it in a freezer bag or two layers of Cling Film. Store your pizza dough in the freezer until you need it. It will keep indefinitely but is best used within 3 months.

Toppings can be frozen as normal.
